White Sorority Wins Sprite Step Competition

I heard about this from some tweets, but couldn't find videos until now. Here's the info....An all white girl sorority Zeta Tau Alpha competed in the Sprite Step Competition against other (I believe all the rest were black groups) sororities including Alpha Kappa Alpha. At the end of the competition it was determined through calculating the scores from the judges that Zeta Tau Alpha won first place which included a $100k scholarship prize. There was so much controversy and speculation as to why the only white group won that Sprite sent out this statement...
After the National Finals Competition this past weekend in Atlanta wrapped, we got together to do our post-competition review and found a scoring discrepancy in the sorority results. After looking at it and looking at it AGAIN, we determined there isn't a definitive resolution."

"Sprite is all about preserving the honesty and integrity of this competition. Because the scoring discrepancy can't be resolved and due to the really tight margin between the first and second place sorors, we feel that the only right thing to do is to name both Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Tau Chapter & Zeta Tau Alpha, Epsilon Chapter, co-first place winners of the Sprite Step Off."

"With these revised results, we're gonna increase Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Tau Chapter's scholarship prize to $100K, consistent with what Zeta Tau Alpha also got for their first prize winnings."

After watching the videos of both Zeta Tau Alpha(white group) and Alpha Kappa Alpha (black group)I must say that the white girls did the damn thang!! I'm just being honest. If we are about changing racism and discrimination in the world, why can't we talk the same talk when it comes to all black traditions like step shows?? I do not see what the problem is. That AKA step show was all about dancing to the latest music anyways...shit I can see the videos or go to the club for that. The Zetas were very creative and innovative with their Matrix step show especially the girl stepping on top of a table while other members held it up in the air!!!! That was more creative than the most played out move of them all in step shows; holding your hand up like a mirror and patting your pretty lil face thats so AKA....Give the Zetas the respect that is due to them..they won fair and square and I think it was very wrong of Sprite to give the prize to the AKAs the day after just to save face and keep the money rolling in. In the end it's all about politics. Wish people could stick to their first instincts and when questioned about it man up and stand your ground.
What do you guys think?? Post your comments
